The ReLOAD (Real Labs Operated At Distance) project was established in 2000 by the School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leeds and has been developed over a number of years in to a complete system for students to access high quality experimental equipment via the internet.
The aim of ReLOAD is to enable academic staff from establishments all over the world to develop and share laboratory resources with each other and their students . Currently, ReLOAD is being used in collaboration with the University of Leeds, University College London, University of Southampton, Manchester Metropolitan University, the University of British Columbia in Vancouver with more collaborations in the pipeline.
